February 9th

Beneath February's frosty veil,

Lies a rich history, an enduring tale.

The ninth day dawns with reflective light,

On Black history's struggles and plights.

Ancestors' whispers in the winter chill,

Echoes of triumph, of iron will.

From shackles to statues, from dreams to rights,

Every step forwards, a beacon so bright.

We honor the path that so many have paved,

Brave souls once captive, who lived unenslaved.

Their legacy strong, like the roots of an oak,

In February's heart, we invoke.

So let us remember, on this day in February,

The stories of heroes, both humble and legendary.

For within their tales, our own futures are sown,

In the rich soil of history, their courage has grown.
