Leveling up

In the mirror, I see a stranger,
Once bound by chains, now chasing danger,
Used to admire the shadows I kept,
A life half-lived, where dreams had wept.
Growing up in a world painted gray,
Where the hustle was loud, but the heart led astray,
I chased the echoes of streets that call,
But I found my peace when I learned to fall.
I admired the struggle, the grit, the grind,
But somewhere along, I left it behind.
The nights full of noise, they whispered my name,
But my soul yearned for growth, not just playing the game.
See, bad ways were friends, they felt so familiar,
But truth's a harsh teacher, love is the healer.
I broke those old patterns, let loose the regret,
In the quest for my greatness, there’s no need to fret.

I used to look up to the things that confined,
Now I rise above, with a peace of mind.
Every setback a lesson, every loss paved the way,
For the strength to be real in a world gone astray.
Leveling up, yeah, I’m shedding that weight,
No more chains dragging, it’s time to elevate.
With gratitude, I stand, for the storms and the strife,
It shaped this new vision, this newfound life.
Now I’m soaring high on the wings of my dreams,
Grateful for the struggle, the scars and the screams.
I've grown from the ashes, I’m ready to fly,
In a world full of noise, I’m the truth in the sky.
